If two government agencies each try to create their own identity system, that’s inefficient.
That’s why this model represents the next evolution: from e-government, to government as a platform, to digital public infrastructure.”
Abadie reflects on his journey from the early experiments in digital government in Buenos Aires and Argentina’s Presidency, to his current role at the CDPI, a global philanthropic organization that advises developing countries on digital infrastructure design.
His perspective is clear: trust doesn’t emerge from technology alone — it’s built through institutional design, standards, and collaboration between public and private actors.
And Latin America, with its institutional diversity, is creating its own model: more interoperable, more collaborative, and more human.
